Why I Created Emotionally Engaged

I was 34 when Jason popped the question.  A former Forbes FYI magazine editor and the author of 4 books, I had just finished my master's degree in counseling psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute.

With all that age, training, and life experience, I assumed my engagement would be a cake-walk --  a delicious period of life full of fun, joy, love, and magic.

While my engagement had all that good stuff, it was emotionally grueling at times, too.  Happy, sad, scared, angry, anxious, overwhelmed, confused.... (I think you may know what I mean)... I couldn't believe this was happening to me!

So during my engagement, I took myself on as a client, so to speak.  I decided to make sense of what was happening to me, so that eventually, I could help other brides like you understand what they were going through.

Since then, I have researched, read,  written, counseled, lectured, interviewed brides, lived and breathed the psychology of being engaged.

I teach brides about the psychology of the family (which explains why everyone acts up) and the stages of rites of passages (which explains why being engaged is universally hard, in some way, for every bride).

I help brides get a grip on they are going through emotionally, so that they can be better prepared for their marriages ahead.
